"After Hours" Single 18th March
"Pachinko - The Best Of The Bluetones" 25th March
The most misunderstood working band in Britain are set to return
in March; Bluetones singer Mark Morriss says with a wry smile "It feels
like we're needed now more than ever". "After Hours" is the Bluetones
first new material since October 2000's release of live favourite "Mudslide".
Taking in influences from ELO and Queen to Bugsy Malone, "After Hours",
a song about a lock-in, is a testament to the diversity of the Bluetones
sound. The long awaited Greatest Hits album "Pachinko - The Best Of
The Bluetones" will be released on March 25th, further details to be
announced shortly. The single comes backed with an excellent selection
of new tracks and cover versions including "Sail On Sailor", originally
performed by the Beach Boys, and the 'tones' version of Barbara Streisand's
"A Woman In Love".
The Bluetones have once again teamed up with Edgar Wright, director
of Channel 4's show 'Spaced', who has co-written and directed the video
for the single "After Hours" with the band. The band made a guest appearance
in the last series of the program, in the infamous "Robot Wars Fight
Club" episode.
"After Hours" is released March 18th on double CD and 7", full
tracklisting as follows:
CD1) After Hours, Groovy Roussos, Sail On Sailor
CD2) After Hours, Reverse Cowgirl, A Woman In Love
7") a) After Hours b) Ingimarsson
